Ernest Gautier du Defaix

Document translation provided by a professor on a special
assignment to the USF Confucius Institute, Tampa, Florida
(Xiaonong Zhang, Ph.D. Nankai University, China).
Following a brief review with Dr. Zhang, she indicated that
the document appears to be a type of a permit that extended
permission to Dr. Ernest Du-Defaix to perform a special
surgical procedures. The Document indicates that Emperor
Guangxu approved one of two surgical procedures previously
denied by a provincial governor where Dr. Du-Defaix
practiced.
Dr. Du Defaix was an
accomplished doctor and surgeon as well as a practicing
lawyer.
