Mary Scolaro Valenti's "Polenta"
 Source: Dora Scolaro Caltagirone.  Dora's sister Mary Scolaro Valenti (1910 - 1989) made this dish often for the family and this Polenta recipe was one of Dora's favorites' that she is happy to share with us.
Serves 8 - 12

INGRED:

 

1 quart of 2% milk

6 cloves

2 mini [1-1/2 oz] boxes of raisins (optional)

1/ cup granulated sugar

1/2 yellow corn meal

dash cinnamon

 

 
RECIPE: 

1.  Heat milk and cloves to a slow boil.

2.  Then slowly add the sugar and yellow corn meal, slowly stirring for about 5 minutes.

3.  Slowly stir in the raisins for a few additional minutes. (this step is optional)

4.  Pour into a 2 qt. 9 x 11-in Pyrex dish and sprinkle with cinamon.
